The LX5500 is a lightweight 500-watt bass amplifier head that runs a 12AX7 Class A tube preamp ahead of a Class D power section, delivering 500W into 4 ohms or 330W into 8 ohms from an 8lb chassis. Its Tone Stack EQ adds bass and treble controls alongside Frequency and Shape knobs for shaping the midrange, plus a Brite switch for extra top-end sparkle and harmonic detail.
A variable Drive control blends in tube-style grit, and a built-in compressor with a fixed 2:1 ratio helps even out dynamics. Connectivity includes an effects loop, balanced XLR direct output with pre/post switch, auxiliary input, headphone output and tuner output, making it a compact head for bass players who want tube warmth without the weight.
