Semi-acoustic body with linden top, back, and sides provides a bright and naturally expressive tone

There's no substitute for the mellow and naturally resonant sound of an electric guitar with a semi-acoustic body. Ibanez built their AS73 semi-hollowbody guitar to capture the jangle and bite of a classic semi-hollowbody, which is why they built it with an all-laminate linden body. Whether you're playing rockabilly, blues, or any number of modern styles, you're going to love the character the AS73 semi-hollowbody guitar brings to your music.

Classic Elite humbucking pickups capture electric sound and acoustic resonance, without 60-cycle hum

Early hollowbody and semi-hollowbody electric guitars had wonderfully expressive tone that came with serious hum issues. That's why Ibanez and other guitar makers quickly developed special humbuckers, such as the Classic Elite models. These special humbuckers preserve your AS73 semi-hollowbody guitar's bite, but ditch the 60Hz hum and other noise. What's more, Classic Elite humbuckers give the AS73 a unique sonic character that you're sure to have fun with.

Slim nyatoh neck and bound laurel fingerboard give you smooth feel and comfortable action

The neck of any guitar has a lot to do with how well it plays, which is why Ibanez selected one of their smoothest and most comfortable necks for the Artcore AS73 semi-hollowbody guitar. Not only will your hand love the slim carve of this nyatoh neck, but your fingers will appreciate the beautifully bound laurel fingerboard.

    Ibanez: a brief history

Ibanez began its life in 1908 as the Hoshino Gakki company in Nagoya, Japan. However, the company didn’t get into the guitar business until 1929, when they started importing Salvador Ibanez guitars from Spain. In 1935, Hoshino Gakki began building Spanish acoustic guitars under the Ibanez Salvador name, which was later shortened to Ibanez. Although Ibanez began manufacturing electric guitars in 1957, the company was relatively unknown in the West until the 1960s, when they started producing guitars based on American designs. By the late 1970s, Ibanez had stopped producing derivative guitars and had begun manufacturing the original designs that the company is now known for. Ibanez is also famous for their effects pedals (most notably the Tube Screamer) and guitar amplifiers.

    What Ibanez Says...

Ibanez introduced Artcore in 2002 and has been the hollow-body guitar of choice for musicians for the last 10 years. The Artcore's combination of quality workmanship and affordability has created legions of fans from diverse genres as blues, country, rock and jazz. Musicians can find the purity of an old school style jazz-box to a hybrid semi-hollow rocker. Artcore is highly respected for its tone, sustain and the way they hold their tuning and how the series continues to push the boundaries of guitar building.
